When working on long-term photo stories you have long periods of time where you do not have much to show off. A quick project that takes few days to complete is a nice change of pace. You get a feeling of being in control - time, light, frame, and subject. There is a beginning and deadline when it is done. Quite different from long-term project that keeps evolving and changing, and growing new branches.
